What type of HP Latop should I select?
I am starting to look at laptops. I receive a 15% discount on HP laptops through my employer. I will be using the computer for school and internet applications primarily. I need something that can handle multiple internet applications at a time (AOL, Y!M, a few firefox tabs) without really being slowed down. I am trying to get something under 0 total after my 15% discount and shipping, and I need a wireless internet connection (we already have a router).
I’m getting frustrated because people at the store keep trying to sell me things I don’t need… I don’t need a widescreen laptop, I don’t need to burn DVDs, and I can’t get through to HP since it’s their busy season. Any suggestions?

hp laptop under $500 will be a ued one if you go to there website there are some that come under $500 but it will not be new but still good you have 1 year back up cover and you can buy 2 more years cover as well .as for AOL more to better service

I would get something that has at least 1024MB of RAM. The RAM is basically what lets you run more programs at once. The higher the RAM the less lag you’ll notice. HP offers it at 512,1024, and 2048MB.

This is a list of hp laptops with a start price of $500-$800. If it’s for school, I’d go with the smallest screen, the 14.1" It’ll have a better battery life and be lighter to carry around all of the time.
This one is customized to what would be good for you. It’s $817 after a 150 rebate. a little higher than what you wanted but you could go with a smaller hard drive and just use XP home edition too. That would save some money.
