I have narrowed my search for a laptop down to 2 Toshiba models, both for under 600 bucks. I am a college student, who needs a laptop for School, Internet, Email, Pictures, and to maybe watch Movies and burn music when I am bored. Portability is important, and so is battery life. I am thinking about buying a refurbished apple two of them look like what I want. However one is almost 0 more and the only difference is that that one has a 128GB solid-state drive and the other has a 250GB Serial ATA hard drive; 5400 rpm. what are the advantages of a solid-state drive? is it worth the 0 extra bucks? who usually uses that kind of think? … I am not a gamer (not on my comp anyways) I would like to start keeping music on my comp but not tons and I would like to be able to watch movies on it but I don’t need to keep them on it.

I’m looking for qutie a sturdy laptop as the one I have at the moment is the toshiba protege and it keeps on breaking, mainly because I’m quite rough with it considering how delicate it is…..hence the need for a more sturdy one so what do you all think? Any thoughts much appreciated!
