Can you charge a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX3 through USB?
My boyfriend found a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX3 at the gas station. It doesnt take normal AA or AAA batteries. It has a rechargeable battery in it but, since he found the camera, we don’t have a charger for it. We bought this USB device from Wal*Mart that powers, charges and tranfers from cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras and laptops. It will only charge if the device can be charged throught USB, obviously. It doesn’t seem to be doing anything but some electronics take a while to charge. Does anyone have one of these cameras and know if you can charge it with USB? Please help!

No. The camera is not equipped with a charging circuit inside, nor can USB provide the power needed for the camera to charge quickly. There might be third party chargers that can do it, but not with the what the camera comes with.
The only camera that can charge through USB (name brand cameras that is) are a few Kodaks. Those camera’s were an abysmal disaster since the USB had trouble providing enough power and people always lost the cable or didn’t have a laptop.
